Korean home cooking, one meal at a time.

About

Welcome to our table

My Babsang is a place to get comfortable with Korean home cooking: to understand an unfamiliar ingredient, follow a recipe with more confidence, and bring a meal together in your own kitchen.

A little context. A clearer next step.

A good recipe helps you understand what to do and what to look for. Our approach puts practical explanations first: ingredient names, clear measurements, preparation notes, and the color or texture that signals your next step.

Korean food has many regional, household, and personal variations. We make room for those differences without presenting one version as the only authentic way.

How we approach recipes

  • Original explanations: reference material informs the cooking research; an author’s stories, wording, reviews, or ratings are not copied.
  • Clear measurements: grams and milliliters are the starting point. U.S. measures are included when they can be checked.
  • Honest testing: a recipe or variation is only described as tested when a recorded cooking test supports that claim. A suggested substitution or meal-planning example does not establish that the exact version has been cooked and checked.
  • Useful substitutions: differences in flavor and texture should be explained, with testing status kept clear.
  • Dietary descriptions: the full recipe matters, including sauces, broths, toppings, and packaged ingredients. A dish name alone does not establish that it is vegetarian, vegan, or free from a particular allergen.
  • Careful details: storage and food-safety guidance needs a reliable source. Unconfirmed quantities and timing need checking before publication.

Help us understand a cooking question

When asking about a recipe, include its title, the ingredient brands or substitutions you used, and the step where the result differed. These details make a problem easier to understand.

The food and kitchen images on this site are editorial illustrations. They show the kind of dish or setting discussed, rather than a photograph of a My Babsang recipe test. Follow the written ingredients and steps when cooking; the appearance of an illustrative image is not a measurement guide.
