Rice bowls, rolls and noodles are practical starting points for Korean home cooking. Bibimbap brings seasoned vegetables and sauce together over rice; gimbap wraps rice and prepared fillings in seaweed; kimchi fried rice turns chilled cooked rice into a one-pan meal. Choose a dish by the ingredient you already have and allow extra time if you must cook rice first.

Look for measured quantities, prep work, texture cues and storage notes in each individual recipe. Some sauces, fish cakes and kimchi contain fish, soy, wheat, sesame or shellfish, so read labels before making substitutions. Recipes here will appear as they pass editorial and kitchen checks.
